Myles Sexton
makeup artist, photographer, model

Mannequin, Make up, Spot light - I was very nervous to go to CompuCollege at first. After finishing High School, I wasn't sure if I was ready to sit at a desk again. I didn't know really what to expect. I feared that I would not succeed within the school. This course proved me wrong. Prior to CompuCollege, I was a self-taught makeup artist, and photographer. I might have known what I was doing in my head, but this course put it into context. I could verbally describe what I was doing for once, and knew exactly why I was doing it. The school made it very easy to accommodate my very busy life, and I am so thankful for that. I don't think I could have done it a lot of the time without the support of the staff and students at that school.
As a graduate with a Makeup Artistry Diploma, I am continuing to work very hard not only as a makeup artist, but as a photographer and model. A total of 106 makeup artists across Canada were eligible to work at the recent Toronto International Film Festival. Only 4 were selected, including me! CompuCollege helped me make my dreams come true.

After being injured on the job I decided it was time to change the
direction of my life and go back to school. After looking into a few
different colleges I decided on CompuCollege for a few reasons, they
were offing the course that I was interested in and they also had
monthly start times. This meant I could begin my training right away
instead of waiting for the next year's semester to begin at the other
colleges.
I must admit I was a little apprehensive about going back to school at
the age of 35, married with two children to support; I had a lot riding
on whether or not I would be able to find work in my chosen field.
After talking to staff and looking into the statistics of the job
market I felt I made the right decision. My time at CompuCollege was
something I would never trade, not only did I learn the skills I needed
for my new career, but I also made some friends I will keep for life.
The instructors were there for me every step of the way, they really
care about the success of their students.
I graduated from CompuCollege almost six years ago and I've been
employed in a full time position ever since and I am now a network
manager for a prominent games studio. Without a doubt, I know I can
attribute my career success to hard work and the support of all the
staff at CompuCollege. I feel very confident in saying I chose “the
right school for the job”.
