Program Objectives
The objective of the Accounting and Payroll Administrator Program is to give the student "hands on" training in the basic areas of financial accounting, as well as in the implementation and operation of a computerized accounting system. The practical, rather than the theoretical, is stressed. The focus of this program is to familiarize the student with the skills necessary to enter the work force as a trained user of the most popular computer software applications.
The objective is for the student to develop practical skills in software applications for major office functions. Students will be provided with "hands-on" training on a computer. In addition, the student will be taught the terms, concepts, and methods to fully utilize each application.

Certification
Successful graduates of this program will meet the program requirements to receive the Payroll Administrator certification from the Payroll Management Certificate Program (PMCP), issued by the Canadian Payroll Association (CPA). The certification is nationally recognized as the standard of excellence for payroll training.
