Program Objectives
This Criminology program prepares students to work in the field of corrections, provides training and experience in standard security practices, as well as basic psychology and related academic modules so that valuable assistance may be provided to counsellors and corrections staff. The goal of the program is to develop the skills in a graduate who will be well versed in the current philosophy of corrections on the provincial and national scenes.
Career Opportunities
Upon completion of the Criminology program graduates will be eligible for employment (depending on specific hiring practices) with community corrections programs for youth and adults including out-reach/cognitive life skills programs, youth custody facilities, and adult community residential centres. Graduates from CompuCollege's Criminology Program may be recognized by the Canadian Armed forces for admission with higher rank, higher rate of pay and signing bonuses.
