Home Programs Accounting, Payroll and Business Administration
Program Objectives
The objective of the Accounting, Payroll and Business Administration course is to expose the student to the most relevant aspects of business management and administration, while providing the student with the tools required for a career in business. Case studies are used to train students to think analytically and to apply their knowledge by solving problems and making decisions. This program also gives the student "hands on" training in the key areas of financial accounting and payroll, as well as in the implementation and operation of a computerized accounting system. The practical, rather than the theoretical, is stressed.
Career Opportunities
The need for well-trained, competent accounting and payroll professionals has never been greater. Accountants are crucial to the running of any business in order to gather, record, organize, and analyze their financial affairs. The business world is a constantly changing environment with opportunities for those individuals with the skills necessary to adapt to those changes. Careers in finance, banking, marketing, HR, accounting, and general management are available to those successful graduates who have the right combination of proper academic skills, personal drive, and dedication.
Certification
Successful graduates of this program will meet the program requirements to receive the Payroll Administrator certification from the Payroll Management Certificate Program (PMCP), issued by the Canadian Payroll Association (CPA). Successful graduates of this program will also meet the program requirements to receive the Certificate in Supervisory Management (CSM), issued by the Canadian Institute of Management (CIM).
